The diocese said farewell to Bishop James at a wonderful, uplifting service in the Cathedral on July 16th. Several Mothers Union members attended and some helped serve refreshments afterwards. We presented Bishop James with a card with inserts signed by many of our members. The card reminded him and Alison that Christ is with them wherever they go next.
We also gave him and MU vase and some MU butterfly/bee friendly seeds for their new garden
Bishop James ended the service with the blessing below, before placing his Crozier on the altar. it was very moving.
Go forth into the world in peace. Be of good courage; hold fast that which is good; render to no-one evil for evil; strengthen the faint hearted; support the weak; help the afflicted; honour everyone; Love and serve the Lord, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
That is also my blessing for all of you reading this
