Advertise the Mothers’ Union with these lovely gift bags.

Would you like to make these lovely bags for refuges or Schools?    Then follow these simple instructions.    The material can be bought from MUe.     Please contact trustees if your Branch  needs help to purchase this

The large bags for toiletries etc are 19″ x 13.5″ and the smaller bags for schools and food banks are 10.5″ x 8.5″.   Start by cutting the material to the size you want.

Fold the material in half, lengthwise, inside out.    Hem along the bottom.    Then hem up the side but leave about the top 1/5th unsewn (this is for the cord)

The next stage is making the section for the cord to go through.   The photo below might help is you are confused!     Hem up the last bit of the sides, without sealing the gap.     Then hem along the top, leaving each end open, creating a gap for the cord.

Cut a piece of cord.    46″ for large bags and 23″ for the small ones.    Thread through the top of the bag.

Fill your bag with your goodies spreading the love and message of the Mothers’ Union.
